VALUES Project Partners Meet in Novi Sad to Advance Values-Based Education Through Sport

From 9-11 October 2026, VALUES project partners held their second consortium meeting in Novi Sad, Serbia, hosted by Sportski klub Volley. Representatives from Pastechl, Širvintų sporto klubas and Institut Impact joined the meeting to review the project’s progress and discuss the next steps in its development and implementation.

The meeting began with a quick discussion about the VALUES Toolkit, which is now entering its second phase of development: transforming the toolkit into an online course. The course will provide a foundation for sports clubs and organisations seeking to obtain the VALUES Quality Mark by implementing the VALUES methodology in their activities and everyday practice.

The Quality Mark will be structured around four phases, guiding clubs and organisations not only in implementing the VALUES methodology but also in developing their own activities using the principles of values-based non-formal education through sport. It will also recognise organisations that actively promote and put these values into practice.

The partners also discussed upcoming workshops and events planned within the project, including an conference scheduled to take place in Montenegro in 2027. Several project deliverables are set to be finalised in October, including the progress and implementation report and the communication materials document. The online platform is expected to launch in November, marking another important milestone for the project.

The meeting concluded with a cultural tour around Novi Sad and the visit to the organisation of sport legends of Novi Sad.

The motivation behind VALUES is simple but powerful: sport is one of the strongest tools we have for personal development, social integration and fostering values that extend far beyond the playing field.

Whether young people are learning to accept defeat with dignity, support their teammates, manage pressure or stay committed to their goals, sport can offer lifelong lessons — provided the right environment is created.

VALUES aims to help sports clubs and organisations build that environment, embedding positive values into their everyday activities and recognising those that truly put values into action.
